How a consulting firm became a secure intelligence company.
Founded to make data manageable. Built into a secure intelligence company.
We started by making data manageable.
DBTEZ began in early 2019 as a data engineering and performance consulting company: tuning heavy systems and delivering the reporting behind our clients’ decisions.
Then we kept meeting a deeper problem: teams couldn’t fully use their data because of security concerns. Speed and innovation were constantly in tension with compliance and control.
Instead of accepting that compromise, we chose to solve it. That decision became KEZEL, and it turned a consulting firm into a secure intelligence company.

The harder question is why the data had to move at all.
“Enterprise AI has spent years optimizing one question: how do we get more data into the model? In a bank, a hospital, a public system or a global supply chain, boundaries are not technical inconvenience. They encode responsibility: jurisdiction, access, accountability and operational risk.
When I started DBTEZ in 2019, we built fast pipelines and tuned heavy workloads. But I kept hearing the same three sentences: we can’t afford to share this data; our teams want insights, but we can’t risk exposure; we want to move faster, but we have to stay locked down. After nearly three decades inside large enterprise systems, that stuck with me.
So the next operating model should preserve boundaries by default. Move computation to the data. Make every cross-boundary output explicit. Keep decision ownership visible. That is what KEZEL is, and that mission hasn’t changed: data should serve your business, without putting your business at risk.”

Leadership at DBTEZ.
What happened, and when.
Founded to make data manageable
DBTEZ begins as a data engineering and performance consulting company. First major engagements.
10,000+ consulting hours
Complex performance optimization engagements across enterprise systems.
First KEZEL prototype
The in-boundary thesis becomes software, tested in early customer environments.
Pilot deployments
Agentic intelligence pilots run inside customer boundaries; raw data stays in place.
KEZEL launches
Real-time, governed intelligence for enterprises, in production.
Public unveiling & recognition
KEZEL unveiled at Bengaluru Tech Summit; recognized at FUELD Dubai for data & analytics innovation.
Platform expansion
Enterprise planning and adaptive intelligence. KEZEL Insights Studio and secQR introduced at Bengaluru Tech Summit. Apache Community Over Code, Minneapolis.
In-Boundary Intelligence
The In-Boundary Intelligence narrative reaches CXO 2.0 Las Vegas.
Some decisions cannot be unmade. We build for those.
The people behind KEZEL spent decades inside banks, hospitals and supply chains, where a wrong answer costs more than a slow one.
Why we build carefully
What drives us every day.
Trust first
Security is built in from the start.
Clarity always
Simplicity and transparency in every step.
Integrity above all
We own our work and tell the truth about it.
People-centred
We celebrate wins and learn in the open.
Join us
We’re shaping how enterprises trust their intelligence. If that sounds like your kind of problem, we’d like to hear from you.
A different first question
Show us the data you are not allowed to move.
That's the workload we should discuss. A 45-minute boundary discovery maps your boundaries, the policies that govern access, and the evidence you need on day one.
